Samsung LTN226W makes a static noise when first powered up? What could be the problem?

When I turn on my television (Samsung LTN226W) it will make a static sound for approximately 5 minutes. It is loudest when I first turn it on but gradually fades to nothing. I can still watch a show when I first turn the television on but the static noise drowns out the show's audio. What might be the problem?Samsung LTN226W makes a static noise when first powered up? What could be the problem?Sounds like a component has a temperature issue. When a component has to heat up or cool down to work correctly most likely it is going bad and it may go out completely at some point. At this time there is not much you can do. I would take it apart and do a thorough cleaning to remove dust, etc... and clean connectors. I first make sure it's unplugged before doing this. But if you have never done it before I would not recommend it. You could do more damage or possible get hurt. There are some dangerous voltages in a TV as in any electrical appliance. Unless you know a cheap repair service and if you haven't taken a TV apart before just live with it and hope for the best. One possibility is if you have a powerful vacuum or air compressor just vacuum out or blow out dust by putting it against the air ventilation on the set.

I know this is not much help but with this throwaway society and the relative low cost of a TV now it's tough to repair or get one repaired.

On last thing is if you have had enough and want to replace it. List it on EBAY making sure to list the problem. Make it PICK UP ONLY and meet this person in a busy parking lot somewhere to give it to him/her. I do not recommend giving them your address or meeting at night in a deserted parking lot. Take a friend and give it to the buyer in a busy mall parking lot. The friend can help lift it if it's very heavy and with two of you there will be less chance of a criminal meeting you.
