Has anyone else had a Samsung optical port break in the first month?

Okay! We *just* got our Samsung HDTV (model un40d6300sfxza) In May, and within the first month, the little plastic bit inside of the in the optical cable port has snapped off.

It seems like cheap plastic and poor engineering - the port isn't designed to handle the stress or weight of a regular cable!

Has anyone else had this problem with Samsung TVs or devices having crappy plastic?|||I assume your talking about ToslinkOptical??

Toslink ports in general are cheaply made. any TV brandname will have same type of optical port. by contrast a BNC connector or an XLR connector or even a RCA Sp/dif Optical (the orange one)

are so durable you can stomp on them and the would probably still work...its insane.

the weakness is the optical port itself and how it is made, not the TV brand.

sure you get nice high quality signals...and maybe it HAS to be made out of skimpy little plastic bits to actually function for some reason I have not heard...
