I recently switched to a samsung plasma tv and lost a lot of my old channels. How do I get them back?

I had a basic panasonic box tv that had a lot of channels but then just got samsung plasma tv and lost majority of them especially the higher numbered channels cooking channel, mtv, espn, travel, animal planet... I tried changing settings in the menu and still no success. I did not change my monthly plan. How can I get them all back? Please help me! Thank you!!|||If you didn't have a cable box, make sure to set your TV for cable mode and do a channel scan.

If you used to have a cable box with your Panasonic, you need one for your plasma. You should get an HD cable box and connect it with an HDMI cable.|||Here's my guess.

Either your new TV doesn't have a NTSC tuner, or the NTSC tuner is off. Check your manual.

If you haven't a NTSC tuner (and the QAM one isn't getting all the channels) then you have a couple of choices.

# 1 (cheapest) get a VCR and run the cable into that. That has a built in tuner, and "should" get your old channels. (A Tivo might also work).

# 2 (best) Contact your cable company and get a box from them. Likely this box will have HD channels that you aren't getting now, as well as your old channels.

Let us know if that helps.
